  • Children's Ministry

    Ministry Mission

    Our ministry main goal is for our children to come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and to connect with one another, our church, and the community to show God’s love for the world. The Children's Ministry welcomes children ages 3 through 5th grade. 


    Ministry Vision

    The vision of the Children's Ministry is to increase the children’s spiritual knowledge and awareness of God's and to understand that God is always listening when they pray. Our discussions include, but are not limited to, ways that they can reach beyond the sanctuary to make a difference in helping others without expecting a reward or recognition for showing God's love to others.   


    Recurring Ministry Activities

    • A summer retreat is held each year to increase children’s spiritual knowledge and awareness of God's love and to fellowship with one another. 
    • The children also participate in various service projects to demonstrate to others that God loves them and cares about them. The projects help children experience the joy of giving unselfishly.   
    Frequency of Meetings
    Meetings are held the Saturday before the second Sunday and the Saturday before the third Sunday.   

  • Boy Scouts

    It is the mission of the Boy Scouts of America to serve others by helping to instill values in young people and, in other ways, to prepare them to make ethical choices during their lifetime in achieving their full potential. The values we strive to instill are based on those found in the Scout Oath and Law. Meetings are held weekly every Thursday at 6:30 P.M. with the exception of holidays.

  • Dancing Angels

    Our dance ministry currently consists of a youth/young adult group known as the Dancing Angels. This group dances for worship services and special events to a variety of spiritual music. The Dancing Angels rehearse on Saturday mornings.  An expansion is under development that will include adults in the future. More information about the music and fine arts ministry.

  • Girl Scouts

    Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship and power of girls together.  Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette and Senior girl scouts meet at United Metropolitan each Tuesday night from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.

    6th grade through 12th grade.

  • Singing Angels (Children's Choir)

    Consisting of the youngest youths in the music ministry ranging from kindergarten through fifth grade, the Singing Angels provide music during the third Sunday worship service.  Rehearsals are on Saturday mornings. More information about the music and fine arts ministry.

  • Voices of Praise (Youth Choir)

    The Voices of Praise are comprised of older youths and young adults in grade 6 and above.  This choir sings for the third Sunday 10:45 a.m. worship service and sings gospel music appropriate for their age.  Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings. More information about the music and fine arts ministry.
